My father is in the business of Internet Marketing and he owns several businesses online. He got into it about 4 or 5 years ago and has never had a real job since, all he does is sit around all day and make money. Well I was at a store and realized they had just moved into a new home and decided that they needed a few doormats. Well I looked aroud a few places and saw a couple that I liked but there was really none that caught my eye. Upon searching a couple of stores I found this one that said, “www.wel.come” and thought that my father would really enjoy this one.

I took it to him the next day and gave it to him as a house warming gift. He thought that is was the coolest thing he had ever seen since he does business on the Internet and everything he does has to do with the World Wide Web, www. Ever since then he has always worked hard and let everyone know when they walk into the house that I bought him the greatest gift he every could have gotten.

I have this friend that is really good at chess, one day I sat down across from him and he put on a clinic the way that he beat me so bad. That day I told him I will beat you someday and you will not enjoy it. That next day I went down to the toy store and asked the clerk if they had any nice chess sets, he replied “just the best”. So I bought a chess set from the young man and decided that I would teach myself how to be the best chess player I could possibly be. Before you knew it I was competing against all the neighbors and was beating them on a consistant basis.

So later on down the road I called my friend, the “chess master” and told him I wanted a rematch. And explained to him that this time I was going to knock the socks off of him. He told me that there was no way that I was going to take him down. So when i went over to his house he already had the game set up and within the first 5 minutes of sitting down he had already but me into check mate. I asked, “well how did you do that”, he said “son, I have been doing this for years and you are just a rookie.”

When you go into a backyard in a really nice home the one thing that you notice is all the attention that was paid to detail. Most homes now a days you walk into are little less manicured then what they use to be back in the day. But one thing that really never lost its touch was the nice stepping stones that you can add to a walkway to make it look a little bit more three dementional. This effect is most commonly used when walking to a hose or some type of machinary that is used maybe a pool pump or something of that nature.

Well one thing that you must be careful of is the fact that they are easy to miss if they aren’t big enough and if you aren’t wearing any sandals or shoes you may step on somethign that you may not like. So if you are a home owner and you want your backyard to have a little umph. Just take a trip down to the local home supply store and pick up some handy dandy stepping stones. You never know when they will do your friends or family justice by giving them a place to set their foot when they walk across the backyard.

Last week my daughter’s cat *Lenore* passed away.  Lenore was one of the most loving cats ever, when my daughter was two she use to pick up Lenore and flop her over her shoulders.  Lenore was a big cat she weight alot and had the big belly to prove it.  Yet she would allow my daughter… ever since she was two years of age to pick up this large cat and sling her over her shoulders and carry her around.  Most cats of this size would probably scratch and bite and say “forget you little kid” but not Lenore. 

Lenore had been sick for a while now… she got the kitty cancer.  This was really sad for my daughter since Lenore was a big part of her life.  After she passed away my daughter wanted to keep her.  We of course had to explain this to her that she was gone and there was really nothing for us to do.  I did explain to her that we could bury Lenore in the backyard and get one of those pet memorial stones to mark the spot.  Needless to say this wasn’t and easy conversation.  It took more than an hour to explain this entire process to her and even then I don’t think she understood.  The one thing she does understand now is that she can still talk to Lenore as long as she goes out to the backyard near the stone and talks. 

She did ask me what happens if we ever decide to move.  I told her that when that happens we will have to do something like move Lenore.  I’m not looking forward to that so I guess we will stay at our house for a while. 

I also had to make a deal with my daughter and find a cat as nice as Lenore next week for her.

It’s birthday time for my family.  In May our family has five birthdays coming up, one of which is for my mother-in-law.  She is a really hard person to shop for, she has almost everything already.  She loves her dog very much so I’m thinking about getting her a gift for the both of them or at least a dog themed gift for her.  Believe me when I say she’s hard to shop for… she’s the hardest in the family.

She has a small Chihuahua so I searched a site for dog lover gifts.  I found a great Chihuahua coffee mug for her.  Her Chihuahua is getting really old and he his almost 16 years old now.  People that love animals are easy to shop for since there are so many websites that offer gifts for dog and cat lovers. 

This reminds me of last year, the gift I got her was not that good.  I forgot about her birthday and had to run out at the last minute to buy a lame gift.  I think she ended up getting a window shade for her car and a gift certifcate for a car wash.  his year I’m much more on top of birthdays and I hope she enjoys her doggie gift.  If not that website seems to have a decent return policy and she could get something else.

Well, that’s one down and four to go.  I think baby Andy will be alot easier to shop for… he is happy with just about anything I buy him and really likes those baby suck toys.

One thing that people never forget is our veterans that have served in the wars fighting battle after battle to preserve their land. But one thing that many people don’t do is recognize them for all the suffering and pain they had to endure fighting for their land and their people. They don’t get all the thanks they should but when people recognize the flag and start to become patriotic there should be no problem once again.

You may want to stop someday and pick up some patriotic gifts and pass them around to all the veterans you see on the road. One day you might come across someone that needs a little help and to give them a gift would be fairly patriotic. So show a little love and lend a helping hand by standing true to your nation. Give a gift of love and symbolism.
