I never really thought about it this way but dogs have to be one of the smartest animals in the whole world. It is almost as if they talk to you whenever it is time to either feed them or let them out to go outside. Dogs are a breed apart and they shouldn’t be mistaken for anything else but man’s best friend. I know this dog that chases you around the house until you give him a little attention. This is a big mystery to me because how can a dog be so smart?

Well I guess that we will never know doggy language but we can take a pretty good guess to why they are really inteligent. Maybe it is the food we feed them but if that were the case then everyone would be flocking to the pet store in search for some magical dog food.  Just remember that dogs are some of the smartest animals in the world and should not be counted out becuase dogs have a mind and a heart to and should be respected just like humans.

Last week my daughter’s cat *Lenore* passed away.  Lenore was one of the most loving cats ever, when my daughter was two she use to pick up Lenore and flop her over her shoulders.  Lenore was a big cat she weight alot and had the big belly to prove it.  Yet she would allow my daughter… ever since she was two years of age to pick up this large cat and sling her over her shoulders and carry her around.  Most cats of this size would probably scratch and bite and say “forget you little kid” but not Lenore. 

Lenore had been sick for a while now… she got the kitty cancer.  This was really sad for my daughter since Lenore was a big part of her life.  After she passed away my daughter wanted to keep her.  We of course had to explain this to her that she was gone and there was really nothing for us to do.  I did explain to her that we could bury Lenore in the backyard and get one of those pet memorial stones to mark the spot.  Needless to say this wasn’t and easy conversation.  It took more than an hour to explain this entire process to her and even then I don’t think she understood.  The one thing she does understand now is that she can still talk to Lenore as long as she goes out to the backyard near the stone and talks. 

She did ask me what happens if we ever decide to move.  I told her that when that happens we will have to do something like move Lenore.  I’m not looking forward to that so I guess we will stay at our house for a while. 

I also had to make a deal with my daughter and find a cat as nice as Lenore next week for her.

It’s birthday time for my family.  In May our family has five birthdays coming up, one of which is for my mother-in-law.  She is a really hard person to shop for, she has almost everything already.  She loves her dog very much so I’m thinking about getting her a gift for the both of them or at least a dog themed gift for her.  Believe me when I say she’s hard to shop for… she’s the hardest in the family.

She has a small Chihuahua so I searched a site for dog lover gifts.  I found a great Chihuahua coffee mug for her.  Her Chihuahua is getting really old and he his almost 16 years old now.  People that love animals are easy to shop for since there are so many websites that offer gifts for dog and cat lovers. 

This reminds me of last year, the gift I got her was not that good.  I forgot about her birthday and had to run out at the last minute to buy a lame gift.  I think she ended up getting a window shade for her car and a gift certifcate for a car wash.  his year I’m much more on top of birthdays and I hope she enjoys her doggie gift.  If not that website seems to have a decent return policy and she could get something else.

Well, that’s one down and four to go.  I think baby Andy will be alot easier to shop for… he is happy with just about anything I buy him and really likes those baby suck toys.

Do you know someone that is so involved with thier cats that to them thier pet is their life? Well if so then you should probably take a little time out to console them especially if they have lost a pet throughout their lifetime. Because sometimes you may find that one’s pet is like a child to them and if they lose them it will be a devistating loss. You may want to get some cat lover gifts especially your friends are really into thier pets.

It is important to let your friends and family let them know that you care about them and thier pets. Some individuals may think they are weird if they love their pets to much, but there can never be too much love passed throughout the world. So the next time you are out shopping you should pick up some gifts for your friends pets, it is a kind gesture and a wonderful showing of gratitude.
