What is a writing journal? Some may say that humans start early, writing on the walls as kids spark an early interest in creative writing. A creative writing journal usually is an extended collage of experiences that one may face on a day-to-day basis usually of one’s events and opinions. Technical writing such as diaries most likely is filled with a detailed version of daily happenings. Sometimes journal writing may or may not include those daily events, but includes past occasions or reflections of past events and also may contain emotional involvement and understanding of events that occur. No matter what there will always be the very fine line that may link diaries to journal writing. The only way to have a clear understanding of the two is to be able to identify the difference between creative writing and technical writing.

The whole idea behind creative writing or descriptive writing is to capture events by letting the reader entrap their senses into the piece. By using details and creative writing you can almost put the reader inside the words. This happens mostly in essay writing or technical writing. Many different varieties of people today keep writing journals as a record of their experiences of their day or their emotions about their past dwellings. Writers on the other side use their journal writing is many different ways. Rather than trying to capture their daily experiences they usually write in their journals to find out who is on the inside. Trying to use their creative writing skills to draw out their inner person. They use their writing to have their voice heard forever.

While writing in your journal you can do whatever your heart desires. It’s your own, you can escape, indulge into your words. There is no set structure or rules; maybe that is why we use to write on the wall as kids, to express ourselves. Writing in different hand strokes also gives the writing journal character. Cursive writing is one the most popular and widely used ways of writing, this style gives a sense of casualness yet elegance to the writing journal as the words just flow together one right after the other. In other words we are saying that you don’t have to be the perfect speller, or fantastic writer, or the most creative writing person ever, all you have to do is do your best and show how much enthusiasm one can show.
